Welcome to Declaring the Praises!
Welcome!
First off, I would like to share a little about myself!
My name is Abby Moore, I am 16 and I live in north Georgia. I have an amazing family that loves and supports me and that encourages me to follow my dreams, which is why this blog now exists!
Jesus and I collided August 5th, 2015 and from that day He was totally turned my life upside down. Over the past year and a half I have gotten to watch Him redeem my story and has completely changed my life. Currently I am a intern in my student ministry, which has turned into one of the most incredible experiences ever, I get to do my dream job, help others fall more in love with Jesus. If I'm not interning then I am planning or preparing for my next mission trip, I can officially say that Uganda and Haiti have stolen my heart and I am hoping to return to both places in the upcoming months! On these trips is where I have met God in the most real way, either in sitting with Haitians on a mountain top singing "Good Good Father" or in spending days with orphans in East Africa. God has burdened my heart more and more for the orphan and vulnerable, and I definitely feel like God is calling me to spend my life caring for orphans and vulnerable children, wherever that may be.
Besides traveling, I love serving as a 6th grade girls leader in the middle school ministry at my church (who I absolutely adore, they are the sweetest girls and I'm so blessed by them!) I get the privilege of leading them every week and it is truly a honor. Besides serving and traveling I am usually taking pictures or practicing calligraphy. 😊
Declaring the Praises has been a dream that has recently grown in my heart over the past few months. It comes from 1 Peter 2:9 which says "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." Not only does it state our worth in Christ, but because of His mercy we get to declare how great our God is! We get to proudly share our stories and tell of His faithfulness in our lives because we all once were unworthy, but now He has redeemed us and now calls us His chosen people. So that is my dream for this blog, is that is would be a place that constantly declares the praises of Him. This will be the place where I will share what God has been teaching me, my story, and other's stories of whom I have had the privilege to meet.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
